Acharya Satyendra Das, the chief priest of Ayodhya's Ram Janmabhoomi Temple, passed away on Wednesday. He was 83 years old. After suffering a brain stroke on February 3, he was admitted to the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow. Despite receiving medical treatment, he could not recover from his condition.
Born in 1942, Acharya Satyendra Das devoted his life to spiritual service starting at age 20. He was associated with the Nirvani Akhara and became the chief priest of the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple before the Babri Masjid demolition in 1992. His role was pivotal in the temple's religious activities and he was a key figure in the Ram Mandir movement.
