Aced NEET, But Flunked Physics, Chemistry In 12th? Student's Marksheet goes Viral
It seems, the ghost of NEET UG 2024 won't be dying down anytime soon. Now, a viral post on X has caught everybody's attention.
The post features the marksheet of a student who allegedly scored 705 out of 720 in NEET, but failed the Physics and Chemistry exams in Class 12. According to the marksheet, the student scored 21 out of 100 in the Physics theory paper and 36 out of 50 in the practical, and 31 out of 100 in the Chemistry theory with 33 out of 50 in the practical. Despite these low scores, the student reportedly secured high percentiles in the NEET UG exam - 99.861 in Chemistry and 99.8903 in Physics.

This disparity in scores has raised doubts about the authenticity of the NEET UG results. Although OneIndia couldn't verify the authenticity of the marksheet.
In light of these controversies, the NTA has announced a re-test on June 23 for 1,563 NEET UG candidates who were given grace marks due to various issues, such as wrong question papers, torn OMR sheets, or delays in OMR sheet distribution. The new results will be declared on June 30, reported NDTV. This decision was made after the Supreme Court's observations on a report by NTA's High Powered Committee. Consequently, the scorecards of these candidates will be scrapped, as they were awarded grace marks for a wrong question.

These actions come amid allegations of irregularities and unfair marking practices in the NEET UG exams. The counselling for admissions into MBBS, BDS, and other medical courses is set to begin on July 6.
The NEET UG 2024, conducted by the NTA on May 5, saw approximately 24 lakh candidates participating. Although the results were originally scheduled for release on June 14, they were announced early on June 4 after the answer sheets were evaluated ahead of schedule.
