Accident Caught On Cam: Young Man Killed in Prayagraj By Reckless E-Rickshaw Driver

In a tragic incident in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, a fatal disregard for traffic rules by an e-rickshaw driver resulted in the death of a young man.

Twenty-one-year-old Akash Singh lost his life while struggling to control his motorcycle as an e-rickshaw suddenly executed a U-turn on a one-way bridge. The distressing event was captured on camera.

A police report has been lodged against the e-rickshaw driver following a complaint filed by Ashwani Singh, the father of the victim, who was employed at a private company. Akash was en route to his office duties when the unfortunate incident occurred on Saturday.

Concerns raised by commuters have prompted complaints to the police regarding the disruptive behaviour of e-rickshaws once they veer out from designated operating areas.

"E-rickshaws frequently disregard traffic regulations, behaving aggressively. They tend to intimidate others and resort to violence when confronted," expressed a commuter in Prayagraj.

Commuters have complained to the police that the e-rickshaws are a nuisance once they come out from areas where they are allowed to operate.

"E-rickshaws don't follow traffic rules most of the time. They are bullies. They gang up against others when objected and become violent," NDTV quoted a commuter in Prayagraj as saying.

"This mode of transport is good and pollution-free. But it doesn't mean the police allow them to do whatever they want all the time. It's very common to see e-rickshaws take the wrong side, make sudden turns," another commuter added.

The video of the horrific accident has now gone viral, drawing severe criticism from the netizens.
