Accident Caught On Cam: Drunk Driver Rams Into Crowd; 3 Killed In Jaipur

In a shocking incident, three people were killed after being run over by a drunk driver. The incident occurred in Jaipur's Nahargarh area.

According to a report in India Today, the deceased are Mamta Kanwar, 50, Awadhesh Pareek, 37, and Virendra Singh. The accused is Usman.

The accident took place around 9 pm when Usman drove his Hyundai Creta from MI Road towards the walled city. CCTV footage showed the car recklessly hitting pedestrians, vehicles, and objects in its path. The clip of the incident has gone viral on social media sites.

"A hit-and-run case was reported from the Nahargarh area on Monday. Nine people were involved in the accident and brought to the hospital. Two people have died," the website quoted the local police as saying.

Eyewitness Speaks

An eyewitness, Dipendra, said that the car first struck a girl and then crashed into his bike near Santoshi Mata Mandir. His bike was dragged for about 20 metres.

However, a scooter rider chased the car, grabbed the steering wheel, and forced it to crash into a blockade, stopping the vehicle.

Speaking to NDTV, Dipendra said, "While I was able to get off his bike in time, the vehicle was for dragged for at least 20 metres,"

Police rushed the injured to the hospital, including a three-year-old girl. BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya demanded increased checkposts in the area to prevent such incidents.

Former CM Ashok Gehlot called the incident "heart-wrenching" and urged strict legal action against the accused.
