Access over 300 speeches, rare pictures of former PM AB Vajpayee on PIB webpage

New Delhi, Dec 24: Over three hundred speeches, rare pictures of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and more can be accessed from a webpage launched by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) on its website on Tuesday.

The webpage is one-stop information resource on Vajpayee, whose 90th birthday is being observed as Good Governance Day by the NDA government.

The webpage contains more than three hundred speeches of the former Prime Minister in Hindi and English, segregated into themes like governance, education, science and technology and economic reforms, an official statement here said.

It has archival photographs of the key moments of Vajpayee's life.

Another highlight of the webpage is films made by Films Division and Doordarshan on Vajpayee. The webpage also provides video links to many key speeches of the former PM.

On the Audio front, the page carries 'Kaljayi Swar Sampada,' a comprehensive collection of Vajpayee's representative moments including his poetry, prepared by All India Radio.

Lauding the webpage, Information and Broadcasting Secretary Bimal Julka said efforts like this are steps towards making people aware of the accomplishments of Vajpayee and hoped that general public, researchers and media persons will find the page a valuable resource.

Keeping in the spirit of Good Governance Day, the webpage carries links to videos on best practices in governance and compilation of award winning case studies in innovative governance, the statement said.

The webpage also carries features written by senior journalists, close colleagues of Vajpayee, it added.
