In the latest update on the whereabouts of Raghav Chadha, Delhi minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has disclosed that the absence of senior party leader and Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha during the crucial election period was attributed to a critical eye complication.

Bharadwaj explained that Chadha might have lost his eyesight, necessitating treatment in the UK. Further, he stated that Chadha had travelled to the UK for medical care due to the seriousness of the eye complication, with concerns that he may have suffered a loss of eyesight. He extended his best wishes for Chadha's speedy recovery and anticipated his return to join the campaign soon.

Amid a series of setbacks for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's arrest in the liquor policy case, Chadha's absence has been notable, especially after Kejriwal's statement. Known as a close aide to Kejriwal, Chadha manages important party departments and leads attacks on political rivals.

Since March 8, Raghav Chadha has been in the UK for an eye operation, during which time Parineeti Chopra accompanied him but returned to India on Thursday following the release of the trailer for her upcoming movie "Amar Singh Chamkila."

Chadha's prolonged stay in London has fueled speculation about his political future, although he has continued to post updates from the party on social media. Additionally, Chadha is listed as one of AAP's star campaigners, along with other prominent party leaders, for the upcoming elections. Additionally, the BJP has queried why Raghav Chadha needed to travel to London for an operation when Kejriwal boasts of having the best medical infrastructure in the Capital, as reported by Hindustan Times.

Raghav Chadha: What is he suffering from?

The 35-year-old politician will undergo vitrectomy surgery to address retinal detachment, a condition caused by the development of small holes in the retina that pose a serious risk to eyesight and necessitates urgent medical intervention to prevent irreversible harm, as reported by India Today.

Retinal detachment manifests when the delicate tissue at the eye's back detaches from its typical position, resulting in vision loss; if left untreated, these holes can rapidly worsen, potentially causing severe vision impairment or blindness.

Not only Raghav Chadha but also Swati Maliwal has also been in the United States since March 2024. On March 24, it was claimed by the BJP that Swati Maliwal had also fled to the US, described as "abandoning the sinking ship".

The AAP Rajya Sabha MP and former chief of the Delhi Women Commission responded that she would be returning soon after her sister's treatment concluded. Swati Maliwal mentioned her longstanding work with Kejriwal and vowed to continue supporting him until her last breath, as reported by Hindustan times.

In reply to BJP's IT cell chief Amit Malviya's post questioning her absence, Swati Maliwal asserted, "The ship you called sinking is rising further because of your atrocities. As I troubled you for nine years in the women's commission, be ready for the next six years as well."

Even though she was abroad during the arrest of Arvind Kejriwal, as per the X account of the Rajya Sabha Member, currently she is actively campaigning for the Lok Sabha Election 2024 in Delhi.
