AAP Scores Big Win in Tarn Taran Bypoll, Arvind Kejriwal Congratulates Supporters

The Tarn Taran bypoll results have reshaped the political mood in Punjab as the Aam Aadmi Party secured a decisive victory. The government's decisions over the past two years, including the improvement of government schools, expansion of mohalla clinics, schemes for farmers and steps to improve the power sector, had a direct impact on voters.

Harmeet Singh Sandhu Wins After Strong Comeback

AAP candidate Harmeet Singh Sandhu defeated SAD's Sukhwinder Kaur Randhawa to claim the Tarn Taran seat. Randhawa led during the first three rounds of counting, but Sandhu gained momentum from the fourth round and continued to widen the gap until the final result declared him the winner.

Celebrations began among AAP supporters as soon as counting started showing a lead. Heavy security was deployed at the counting centre set up at the International College of Nursing in Piddi.

The seat had fallen vacant after the death of AAP MLA Kashmir Singh Sohal in June. Sohal enjoyed strong influence in the constituency, making the bypoll significant. Sandhu's victory indicates that AAP not only retained its support base but also expanded it.

High Voter Turnout Signals Public Interest

The bypoll recorded a voter turnout of 60.95 percent, reflecting high public interest. AAP received strong support in rural areas, while urban voters also backed the party.
