Will AAP break the blood relative rule? Tie up with Bains brothers likely
The Aam Admi Party (AAP) is likely to enter into an alliance with Awaaz-e-Punjab leaders Bains brothers ahead on Punjab polls
Chandigarh, Nov 21: The Aam Admi Party (AAP) is likely to enter into an alliance with Awaaz-e-Punjab leaders Bains brothers.
AAP convenor Gurpreet Singh Waraich and Punjab in-charge Sanjay Singh are likely to make this announcement later today. This development will be watched keenly ahead of the Punjab elections.
What is to be noted here is that AAP constitution does not allow blood relatives and family memebers to hold office posts in the party.
Simarjit Singh Bains and Balwinder Singh Bains, who have announced their resignation as MLAs over the water sharing dispute, are expected to announce their move today.
As per sources, AAP is not likely to field candidates against the Bains brothers in around 4-5 seats to extend their support to them. Bains brothers reportedly met AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal before deciding to make this announcement.
Bains brothers were part of Awaaz-e-Punjab, which was floated by cricketer turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu.
The Bains brothers from Ludhiana had also floated an independent party by the name Lok Insaaf Party earlier.
