AAP Raises Alarm Over Senior IPS Officer Y. Puran Kumar’s Mysterious Death

The unexpected death of senior IPS officer Y. Puran Kumar has sparked serious concern, with Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national media in-charge Anurag Dhanda calling it a critical issue. Dhanda expressed regret over the harassment faced by such a high-ranking officer and criticised the BJP, alleging that the party struggles to accept Dalits in positions of authority.

"Whenever a common citizen is summoned for questioning, BJP leaders rush to intervene. But when a Dalit officer rises to prominence, they face defamatory videos and derogatory remarks," Dhanda said. He accused the BJP government of ignoring harassment directed at Dalits in top positions.

Dalit Rights and Political Concerns

Dhanda highlighted that even after more than a decade in power, the BJP has not curbed the increasing atrocities against Dalits. He claimed the party's ecosystem aims to prevent Dalits from reaching senior roles. The recent attack on the Chief Justice, he noted, also indicated the party's support for perpetrators.

He added, "Dr. B.R. Ambedkar's constitution guarantees equal rights for all. If a Dalit officer feels so pressured that it leads to their death, it is a matter of grave concern." Dhanda further criticised the state administration for lack of attention while the Chief Minister is abroad.

Call for Justice

The AAP demanded a transparent and impartial investigation into Kumar's death and urged strict action against anyone responsible. The party emphasised zero tolerance for oppression against Dalits and called on Haryana to emulate Punjab's decisive measures in tackling discriminatory mindsets.

Justice, the AAP asserted, must be delivered swiftly and without bias to restore public trust and uphold constitutional guarantees.
