AAP Stages Protest Over Alleged Corruption in NEET Results in Noida

In a significant display of dissent, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) workers congregated in Sector 19 to voice their concerns over alleged corruption in the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET) results for medical studies. The protest, marked by the chanting of slogans, culminated in the submission of a memorandum to City Magistrate Shalabh Rathi, highlighting the party's apprehensions regarding the integrity of the examination process.

AAP Protests NEET Corruption

The National Testing Agency (NTA), responsible for conducting NEET, recently announced that the education ministry has initiated a review through a four-member panel concerning the grace marks awarded to over 1,500 candidates. This development follows accusations of mark inflation that saw 67 candidates achieving the top rank by scoring a perfect 720 in the NEET-UG medical entrance exam.

Rakesh Awana, District General Secretary of AAP, expressed deep concern over what he perceives as a grave injustice to aspiring doctors. He pointed out the suspicious timing of the NEET results, released concurrently with the Lok Sabha election outcomes, and highlighted anomalies such as multiple students, many from the same coaching center, securing near-perfect scores. Awana questioned the feasibility of such high marks under the exam's strict scoring guidelines, where even a single error can lead to significant point deductions.

The memorandum submitted by AAP workers calls for prompt and thorough investigation into these allegations to ensure fairness and transparency in the examination process. The party's actions reflect growing unease about potential discrepancies in one of India's most critical entrance exams for medical studies.

This incident underscores the importance of maintaining rigorous standards and oversight in educational assessments to uphold their credibility and ensure that every student's hard work is judged fairly and accurately.
