AAP to Launch Protests Against Inflated Water Bills, Scheme Obstruction in Delhi
The Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi is organizing protests against inflated water bills and the hindrance of its one-time settlement plan by government officials.
The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi announced on Sunday that it will launch protests against inflated water bills and officials obstructing its proposed one-time settlement scheme aimed at addressing the issue.

Allegations of Obstruction
Earlier this week, the party alleged that the Delhi government's one-time settlement scheme for redressing faulty water bills had encountered a roadblock. The urban development secretary allegedly refused to present the proposal before the Council of Ministers.
Meeting at Civic Centre
On Sunday, AAP convened a meeting at the Civic Centre in Delhi, attended by its ministers, MLAs, councillors, and office bearers. The party's Rajya Sabha MP and national general secretary organization, Sandeep Pathak, addressed the meeting.
Sandeep Pathak's Statement
Pathak stated that the Delhi government had announced a one-time settlement scheme for water bills, but the BJP-led central government obstructed it through officers. He emphasized that AAP will reach out to the people of Delhi and protest throughout the city on this matter. He asserted that the party will not allow injustice to be done to Delhiites and will continue to work for their welfare.
Atishi on Skyrocketing Water Bills
Senior AAP leader and Delhi minister Atishi highlighted that skyrocketing water bills in Delhi have become a pressing issue for its residents. She explained that under the proposed scheme, if a consumer has had at least two correct readings in the past few years, their bill will be generated based on that reading.
Saurabh Bharadwaj on Policy Obstruction
Delhi Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj revealed that the policy was passed by the Delhi Jal Board, but due to the resistance of certain officers, it was not being presented to the cabinet. He expressed frustration that officers have refused to bring the policy to the Cabinet. Bharadwaj announced that AAP will launch a significant movement to ensure the settlement of water bills for the people of Delhi.
The AAP's announcement of protests against inflated water bills and the obstruction of its settlement scheme reflects the party's commitment to addressing the concerns of Delhi's residents. The party's leaders have emphasized their determination to fight for the rights of Delhiites and ensure that they receive fair and accurate water bills.
