AAP protestors against MCD detained by Delhi Police

The Aam Aadmi Party on January 29 launched a protest against the Municipal Corporation of Delhi for sealing of markets. The protesters were detained at the Parliament Street Police Station by the Delhi Police not following rules, as per the police.

AAP protestors also alleged that they were lathicharged by the police for leading a peaceful protest, however, the police denied all such allegation. Talking to Oneindia, a police official said, "We were helping them to protest peacefully, but the protesters did not listen to us and started flouting rules, disrupting traffic,"

A lady who was also a part of the protest claimed that she was lathicharged by policemen, she said, "The police did not discriminate between mwn and women when they lathicharged, is this how women will be respected in our country?"

Senior party leader Gopal Rai was leading the protest from Patel Chowk in Delhi to Parliament Street.

Several anti-BJP slogans were heard in the protest against sealing as well as Foreign Direct Investent.

This comes a week after Traders in Delhi, along with AAP had observed a traders bandh to protest against sealing along with the Aam Aadmi Party. BJP Delhi BJP chief then had said that he is with the traders and understands their pain.
