Vishwas's remark: AAP office ransacked
Thiruvananthapuram, Jan 20: An Aam Aadmi Party office in Kochi was ransacked allegedly by Youth Congress activists over remarks made by AAP leader Kumar Vishwas against Malayali nurses nearly six years ago.

The Congress workers alleged that the remarks, made during a speech in Ranchi in 2008 and uploaded on a social networking site recently, were laced with "sexist undertone".

Reacting sharply to Vishwas's comments, Bindu Krishna, All India Vice-President of the Mahila Congress, demanded that a criminal case be registered against the AAP leader for making "sexist comments" against Malayali nurses, who had a reputation for rendering exemplary services in hospitals within and outside the country.

She also asked the AAP leadership to spell out its stand on the remarks of Vishwas.

Joining the chorus of protesters, eminent Malayali writer Sara Joseph, who joined AAP last week, said, "Remarks of Vishwas are totally deplorable. I strongly protest it. I expect that the AAP leadership will come out with a clarification on the issue."

Police said Youth Congress workers took out a march to the AAP office on MG road in Kochi and threw stones and ransacked the office. They reportedly threw eggs, broke some chairs and windowpanes. They also shouted slogans against AAP and Vishwas, sources said.

Mahila Congress workers also took out a march to the office.
