AAP MP Calls for Protection of Minorities Amid Reports of Religious Vandalism

Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh (Sanjay Azad Sln) has raised concerns over recent incidents of religious intolerance across India, warning that such acts could damage the country's image internationally.

Singh said India has always been a culturally strong and diverse nation, and its citizens have long taken pride in the nation's pluralistic ethos. However, he alleged that some groups have been interfering in the religious practices and events of other communities, creating unrest and fear.

Citing specific incidents, Singh mentioned that in Bareilly, the Hanuman Chalisa was recited outside a church, and elsewhere, a priest was reportedly assaulted. He also pointed out that statues of Santa Claus have been vandalised in multiple locations, highlighting a pattern of harassment against minority communities.

"These acts do not reflect the values of India," Singh said. "What message will this send to the world if people cannot freely celebrate their faith?" he questioned, urging authorities to take strict measures to maintain peace and uphold constitutional rights.

The AAP MP called for immediate action to prevent such incidents from escalating and emphasized that India's strength lies in its unity and respect for diversity. He stressed that the government must ensure the protection of all communities and maintain the secular fabric of the nation.

Singh's remarks come amid growing debates over religious intolerance and minority rights, with opposition parties pressing the central and state governments to act decisively against such disruptions to social harmony.
