AAP Rallies Support for INDIA Bloc Nominees in Delhi Lok Sabha Polls

In a significant political maneuver, AAP leaders took to the streets of Delhi on Friday, rallying support for the opposition INDIA bloc's candidates ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. This comes in the wake of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's incarceration, which has sparked a city-wide campaign titled 'Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se'. The campaign saw Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh and Delhi minister Atishi addressing a Sankalp Sabha in the Kalkaji assembly segment, a part of the South Delhi Lok Sabha constituency.

AAP Backs INDIA Bloc in Delhi Polls

The INDIA bloc, aiming to make a substantial impact in the upcoming elections, has nominated Sahiram Pahalwan for the South Delhi seat. Singh highlighted Kejriwal's contributions towards reducing electricity and water bills and implementing free travel for women in public buses. He urged Delhi's populace to vote en masse for the INDIA alliance, aiming to eliminate the BJP's presence in all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi.

Atishi criticized the BJP's tenure over the past decade, pointing out the unfulfilled promises and lack of improvement in people's lives. She emphasized that despite high hopes placed on the BJP in both 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the party failed to meet public expectations. Highlighting Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21 in connection with an alleged money laundering case, she termed it a baseless accusation aimed at sidelining him from the political scenario.

Gopal Rai, AAP's Delhi state convenor, spoke at a Sankalp Sabha in Krishna Nagar within the East Delhi Lok Sabha constituency. He noted a sense of disillusionment among BJP leaders with their own party and criticized their strategy of changing candidates as a futile attempt to retain power. Rai stressed that a victory for BJP would be detrimental to democracy and constitutional rights in India.

Delhi Assembly Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla and AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak also held a public meeting in Rajinder Nagar, emphasizing AAP's commitment to women's safety and urging voters to support their cause.

All seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi are set to be contested in the sixth phase of the elections on May 25. With AAP leaders actively campaigning against BJP and rallying support for the INDIA bloc, the political landscape in Delhi is brimming with anticipation as both sides vie for dominance.
