AAP Leaders Urge Bengal Governor to Probe Into NEET Scam Allegations

In a significant development, leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in West Bengal engaged in a crucial dialogue with Governor C.V. Ananda Bose at Raj Bhavan, addressing concerns over the alleged NEET scam. The AAP delegation, led by spokesperson Arnab Maitra, sought the Governor's intervention, emphasizing the need for an unbiased investigation and the imperative to hold those responsible accountable.

AAP Demands NEET Scam Probe

During the meeting, Maitra highlighted the contradiction between the government's vision for a developed India by 2047 and the prevailing corruption undermining educational integrity. "How will these fake doctors take our nation forward? We want justice for the NEET candidates," Maitra stated, pointing out the gravity of the situation and its potential impact on lakhs of students' futures.

The controversy surrounding the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has stirred significant public and political discourse. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has dismissed allegations related to a paper leak in NEET-UG, asserting the absence of any evidence to support such claims. In a related announcement, the Centre informed the Supreme Court about its decision to cancel the awarding of grace marks to 1,563 NEET-UG 2024 candidates. Instead, these candidates will be offered an opportunity to retake the exam on June 23, aiming to ensure fairness and transparency in the admission process for MBBS, BDS, and other courses.

This incident underscores ongoing concerns regarding educational fairness and integrity in India. The AAP's move to approach Governor Bose reflects a broader demand for accountability and rectitude in academic evaluations and admissions. As this situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how authorities will address these allegations and what measures will be implemented to safeguard the interests of students nationwide.
