AAP does it again; power tariff down by 50% in Delhi

Arvind Kejriwal
New Delhi, Dec 31: Just four days into the government, the AAP has done it again. It has hit the two most painful sores of the Delhiites-water and power.

Yesterday, AAP declared free distribution of water of upto 667 litres per household and now it has decided to cut down on the power tariff by 50%.

After an extended meeting with the CAG and the cabinet, Arvind Kejriwal declared that starting January 1, households using 0-200 units and 201-400 units of power will not be charged anything.

However, he also added that the audit report of the three power companies is awaited so that a concrete decision can be taken on its basis.
