AAP 'divided' over LS poll ticket to Rakhi Birla

The party's youngest member and former Delhi Women and Child Welfare minister Rakhi Birla's candidature to be considered for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections has not gone down well with some party insiders, a news report said.
The second list of AAP candidates is expected to reveal around 40 names.
The party is apparently heading for yet another showdown, as six leaders have protested the move to elevate Rakhi Birla. The report claimed that some members have even launched a hunger strike in front of AAP's Delhi office, to take back Rakhi's name from the list of LS poll candidates.
Some reports said that AAP is likely to pit Rakhi Birla against veteran politician and women leader from Congress, Krishna Tirath from the northwest Delhi constituency.
Rakhi, who was elected from Delhi's Mangolpuri constituency, gained fame when her car was either attacked or was hit by a ball, hit the headlines. However, Rakhi had escaped unhurt in the incident.
The second list of AAP candidates is expected to reveal around 40 names against the big names in politics in the coming weekend.
