AAP crisis deepens: Anjali Damania accuses Bhushan of wanting AAP to lose in Delhi polls

New Delhi, Mar 7: The Arvind Kejriwal camp on Saturday went on the offensive with an AAP leader from Maharashtra Anjali Damania accusing Prashant Bhushan of wanting the party to lose the recent Delhi assembly polls.

Damania, an aide of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, also accused Bhushan of discouraging the donors from giving funds to the party at a crucial juncture, ahead of the polls.

"On January 27, I met Prashant ji (Bhushan) at his office. I was stunned when he said that he wanted the party to lose in Delhi assembly elections.

"I was so upset that I picked up my bag and walked out of his office," Damania said. She also alleged that Bhushan discouraged donors to give donations to the party when AAP was facing cash crunch.

"He also discouraged the donors whenever party people went to ask for donations. The statements by Shanti Bhushan ji too were bad in taste when the party was fighting," Damania said.

Her statments come at a time when Mayank Gandhi, another AAP leader from Maharastra accused a "small group of party decision makers" of targeting him after he decried the decision to remove Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav from the Political Affairs Committee and said it could compel him to quit.

Gandhi, who shares an uneasy relationship with Damania, had expressed shock and slammed the manner in which Bhushan and Yadav were removed from from the PAC.
