Lok Sabha Elections 2024: AAP Announces Candidates For Delhi, Haryana

For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, Aam Aadmi Party on Tuesday announced its candidates for Delhi and Haryana. AAP's Political Affairs Committee (PAC) headed by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has announced 4 candidates for New Delhi, South Delhi, West Delhi, and East Delhi constituencies, while 1 candidate for Haryana's Kurukshetra in Haryana.

As per the announcement by AAP, Somnath Bharti will contest from the New Delhi constituency, Mahabal Mishra will compete from the West Delhi seat, Kuldeep Kumar has been named from East Delhi, and Sahiram will lock horns against BJP's candidate from the South Delhi seat.

The Aam Aadmi Party has fielded its one candidate, Sushil Gupta, to fight from Kurukshetra in Haryana.

Making the press announcement, senior AAP leader Sandeep Pathak said, "We will fight in five states and a total of 29 candidates will contest."

According to the reports, AAP candidates will join the Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra when it crosses through the national capital.

A week ago, the Delhi ruling party had sealed the deal with Congress for the Lok Sabha elections, and after Delhi and Haryana, soon party is soon expected to announce candidates for Gujarat, Chandigarh, and Goa.

However, AAP has announced to go solo in Punjab on all 13 Lok Sabha constituencies.

Talking to the media, AAP's senior leader Gopal Rai said, "The names for Punjab Lok Sabha candidates (of AAP) will be made soon.

"After the announcement of candidates' names, AAP leader Somnath Bharti said, "I thank Arvind Kejriwal for giving me this responsibility. This is a big responsibility, especially in this environment, where you can see what is being done in a democracy."

"I thank Arvind Kejriwal for giving me this responsibility, and I assure him the public of Kurukshetra will work for the change of Haryana.," AAP leader Sushil Gupta who has been named from Haryana's Kurukshetra said.
