Aam Aadmi Party Names Ex CM Atishi As LoP In Delhi Assembly
Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs on Sunday elected former Chief Minister Atishi as their leader, who will also act as leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly. The legislative meeting was also attended by Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, who himself lost election to BJP's Parvesh Verma in New Delhi constituency.
AAP members also focused on discussing the agenda for the upcoming Assembly session and what matters will be raised on priority being the opposition.

Atishi's appointment marks a significant milestone as she becomes Delhi's first female Leader of Opposition. Expressing her commitment, Atishi stated, "The people of Delhi have given you the role of opposition. We will show you what a strong opposition is by working. Modi ji had said that this will be passed in the first cabinet and on 8th March women will get Rs 2500 in their accounts. It will be our agenda to get these promises fulfilled. I had sent the CAG report to the Speaker before the elections. They are spreading confusion that he has presented this report."
Delhi Assembly Session Details:
The assembly session is set to begin on February 24, where MLAs will take their oaths and a new Speaker will be appointed. Vijender Gupta from the Bharatiya Janata Party has been nominated as Speaker, while Arvinder Singh Lovely will serve as pro-tem speaker temporarily.
On February 25, during the second day of the session, the government plans to present the Comptroller Auditor General's (CAG) report. This document reportedly highlights corruption and irregularities linked to AAP's previous administration.
BJP's Perspective on CAG Report
BJP MLA Harish Khurana commented on the significance of tabling the CAG report. He mentioned that it would shed light on various issues such as corruption in excise policy, renovation costs of former CM's residence (referred to as Sheesh Mahal by BJP), and education policies.
Khurana remarked, "The report will be tabled in the House and many things will come to light. I think the truth will come out in the CAG report. Whether it is education, liquor, or Sheesh Mahal, many such issues will be raised in the House."
