A ‘Haha’ from PM Modi to this ‘innovative’ Deewar poster with Swachh Bharat message

This hilarious Deewar poster on Swachh Bharat Abhiyan catches the attention of PM Modi.

New Delhi, April 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not stop laughing and tweeting about an 'innovative' poster on film Deewar with Swachh Bharat Abhiyan message. Deewar is a yesteryear blockbuster Bollywood movie, starring superstar Amitabh Bachchan, Shashi Kapoor and Nirupama Roy.

A twitter handle, which goes by the name @sahucar, tweeted about the poster to PM Modi, "Whoever created this deserves an award. @narendramodi ji kripya dhyan dein 🙏 #SwachhBharat."

In reply to the tweet, a visibly amused PM Modi laughed and lauded the poster's innovative way of creating awareness on cleanliness. PM Modi wrote on the micro-blogging site, "Haha! Borrows from cinema to make a point on cleanliness. Innovative."

The poster in Hindi has been put up by the civic body of Nainital in Uttarakhand. The poster tries to create awareness about building toilets in all houses with an innovative and definitely hilarious way. In the poster, Amitabh is seen asking his mother Nirupama to come with him to stay in his house.

Nirupama's second son, Shashi, interrupts his brother Amitabh, and asks his mother to stay with him. As the two brothers fight over their mother, Nirupama tells her sons that she would stay with the one who builds a toilet first.

Then the poster ends with a message, "Do not defecate in the open; build toilets at homes."

For those who haven't seen the classic Deewar, here is a small brief about the movie: In the film, Amitabh plays the role of Vijay, a criminal. Actor Shashi plays the role of Amitabh's younger brother and an honest cop, Ravi. Veteran actress Nirupama plays the mother's role.

In the movie, both the brothers fight over their mother to take her to their respective homes, after clashes erupted between Vijay and Ravi, because of the former's criminal activities. The makers of the Swachh Bharat poster have borrowed the scene from the film, but with a twist. And, we must say it is quite filmy and eye-catching.

Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is PM Modi's pet project to create cleanliness across the country.
