A fading Lashkar looks to divide Jammu and Kashmir into four zones

The Lashkar-e-Tayiba which has faced heavy losses in Kashmir has decided to divide the state of Jammu and Kashmir into four divisions. Intelligence reports state that this is being done to gain control and also ensure thatt violence is staged from all four sides.

The outfit is unable to put up a leader immediately to control the entire state and hence has come up with this strategy. It feels that it would put up junior commanders so that they are able to control smaller territory. In recent times, the forces have gunned down 5 top Lashkar-e-Tayiba commanders who were classified Grade A++.

The Lashkar-e-Tayiba has however decided that these zones would be manned by Pakistani terrorists. It is also planning a major infiltration into the Valley in phases in which it proposes to send in at least 40 highly trained terrorists.

The Lashkar-e-Tayiba would also look to team up with the Hizbul Mujahideen which has in recent times recruited 50 youth into its fold. The Lashkar-e-Tayiba needs the numbers and hence this fresh alliance would give it a boost, the outfit feels.

The Intelligence Bureau has warned that the Lashkar-e-Tayiba would go into second gear this summer. It has further said that there would be several infiltration bids made in the coming days and hence a high alert needs to be maintained at all times.
