7th Pay Commission: Latest news and updates, from vacancy list to pay hike
New Delhi, July 27: The India Post office department has invited applications for several vacancies, the pay scale of which would be under the 7th Pay Commission.
Applications have been invited for the post of Staff Car Driver under the pay matrix of the 7th Pay Commission. Interested candidates can apply before September 7, 2018.
Pay scale and necessary qualification
Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade) will get a pay of Rs 19,900-63,200 -(Level 2 in the pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission)
Deputation/ Absorption of officials in the Department of Posts
From among the regular Dispatch Rider (Group C) and Group C employees in (Pay Band - 1, Rs 5200-20200 with Grade Pay of Rs 1800 as per 6th CPC (Level 1 as per 7th Pay Commission Pay Matrix)) the Department of Posts who possess valid Driving Licence for light and heavy Motor vehicles on the basis of a driving test to assess the competence to drive light and heavy Motor vehicle.
Personnel from other ministries of the Central government and Armed Forces Personnel holding the post of Dispatch Rider on regular basis or regular Group C employees in Level 1 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission who fulfil the necessary qualifications prescribed as under: Possession of a valid Driving Licence for light and heavy motor vehicles; Knowledge of Motor mechanism (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in vehicle); Experience of Driving Light and Heavy motor vehicle for at least three years.
For Ex-servicemen
The Armed Forces personnel who are likely to retire or who are to be transferred to reserve within a period of one year but have requisite experience and qualifications prescribed shall also be considered. Such candidates would be given deputation terms up to the date on which they are due for release from Armed Forces; thereafter they may be continued on re-employment.

Meanwhile, Central Government employees continue to wait for some good news. Some media reports have said that there could be a pay hike of Rs 8,000 and the announcement would be made in 20 days. There is however no official confirmation on this. When asked about the latest news on the 7th Pay Commission, an official told OneIndia that there are deliberations which are still on. The pay hike could come only in November, he added.
