7/11 Mumbai blast victim dies after remaining in coma for 7 years
Mumbai, July 7: Parag Sawant, a 7/11 Mumbai blast victim breathed his last today at the Hinduja hospital after remaining in coma for 7 years.
Parag was in a Churchgate-Virar train when the blast occurred near Mira Road in July 2006.
He suffered severe brain trauma and was rushed to the Bhaktivedanta Hospital at Mira Road and later shifted to Hinduja Hospital.
He reportedly slipped into coma after the attack. In 2008, after being in coma for two years, Parag came out of it miraculously for some time.
Although bed-ridden, he could talk and eat properly. However, after a series of convulsions, he slipped into coma again.
26 year old then, Parag worked as an assistant sales manager. He is survived by his wife Priti and 8-year old daughter Prachiti.
Priti was pregnant when the blast happened and is now working with the Railways. She is the sole bread winner of the house.
