67th Kerala Piravi: CM Pinarayi Vijayan Calls For Unity Ahead Of 1 Week Keraleeyam Festival

As Kerala commemorates its 67th formation day, celebrated as Kerala Piravi today, the State government is embarking on a week-long festival known as 'Keraleeyam' from 1st November. The purpose of this festival is to spotlight Kerala's progress, achievements, and cultural heritage on a global stage.

'Keraleeyam' is set to unveil the 'Best of Kerala' through an array of activities, seminars, exhibitions, fairs, festivals, and shows spanning across more than 40 venues.

Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan have both extended their heartfelt wishes to the people of Kerala and Malayalees worldwide on the eve of Kerala Piravi.

Their messages collectively underscore a steadfast commitment to a unified and progressive Kerala, urging citizens to collaborate for the betterment of the state.

In his message, Governor Khan emphasized the shared responsibility for the state's development and called upon people to nurture social harmony and champion the Malayalam language.

"Together, let us contribute to the development and progress of our beloved State, strengthen our social harmony and enrich our mother tongue, Malayalam," Governor Khan expressed as quoted by Onmanorama.

Chief Minister Vijayan reflected on the pivotal roles played by both the national movement and the renaissance movement in shaping modern Kerala. He called for a transcendent perspective that transcends caste and religion, emphasizing the imperative of unity, regardless of backgrounds, to propel the state towards greater development in the new millennium.

V D Satheesan, the Leader of the Opposition in the State Assembly, echoed the call for unity. In his message, he cautioned against divisive forces and underscored the importance of remaining vigilant to safeguard the unity of the people.

"It is our duty to safeguard and uphold our nation and its people, striving for unity over division," Satheesan emphasized.
