'5th in 9 days': Another Bridge Collapses In Bihar, Was Under Construction For Four Years
An under construction bridge in Bihar's Madhubani district collapsed on Friday, marking the fifth such incident in the state within nine days.
The 75-meter bridge, being built since 2021 by the Bihar government's Rural Works Department at a cost of Rs 3 crore, collapsed when a 25-meter supporting pillar fell into the river due to rising water levels.'

Tejashwi Yadav, the Opposition leader in the Bihar assembly, shared this latest bridge collapse on his X handle and slammed the Bihar government.
The incident occurred in Madhepur Block, under the Bheja police station. Images from the scene show fallen pillars covered with tarpaulin sheets.
On June 27 a bridge collapsed in Kishanganj district. This was followed by a small under-construction bridge collapse in East Champaran district on June 23.
Similarly, on June 22, a bridge over the Gandak canal collapsed in Siwan district.
A section of an under-construction concrete bridge over the Bakra River in Araria district collapsed on June 19 after spending crores in investment.
