5-yr-old raped at Old Delhi railway station

New Delhi, May 20: A 5-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a drug addict inside the parcel yard of Old Delhi Railway Station here today.

According to police, the incident came to light around 10.30 am today when a passerby noticed the girl bleeding and informed the police.

Police said the accused, who is on the run, has been identified as a man staying at a temple in the area, and hunt is on for him. The girl was bleeding profusely when she was taken to the police who took her to Aruna Asaf Ali hospital.

Doctors confirmed that she had been raped after medical examination, a police officer said. Mother of the victim is a vagabond and earns her livelihood through begging near the railway station. She filed a complaint on the basis of which police registered a case under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act at Old Delhi Railway Station, police said.
