Misri stated that the Indian government is in touch with US authorities to resolve the issues related to these individuals and is closely monitoring the situation.

Regarding the standard operating procedure used by US authorities for deporting immigrants, Misri said that the Indian government is aware that these procedures have been in place for a long time.

Regarding allegations of mistreatment of deportees, Misri termed it a "valid concern" and stated that the Indian government will raise the issue with US authorities.

The government's priority, Misri said, is the safe and dignified return of these individuals. The foreign secretary assured that the Indian government will take all necessary steps to address the concerns and resolve the issues related to the deportation of Indian nationals from the US.
