44 fake accounts found during raid at an Axis Bank branch in Delhi

Over Rs. 100 crores were found in fake accounts during a raid at an Axis Bank branch in Delhi's Chandni Chowk area on Friday, said reports.

New Delhi, Dec.9: Over Rs. 100 crores were found in fake accounts during a raid at an Axis Bank branch in Delhi's Chandni Chowk area on Friday, said reports.

The IT department officials came across 44 fake accounts during the raid.

According to reports, a total of Rs. 450 crores have been deposited in the branch since Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the banning of Rs.500 and Rs.1000 notes to combat black money and money laundering.

An Axis Bank statement said strict action would be taken against any employee found to be indulging in malpractice.
