43 nationalities to have visa-on-arrival from Nov 27
New Delhi, Nov 26:43 countries, including the United States, Australia, Fiji and Pacific Island, will have Visa-on-Arrival and Electronic Travel Authorisation from Nov 27.
As promised by Prime MInister Narendra Modi, on his visit to these coutries, a draft bill amending the Citizen (Amendment) Act will be brought to the Cabinet for approval shortly. This amendment will enable the merger of the PIO (Person of Indian Origin) and OCI (Overseas Citizenship of India) schemes.

The government has already worked toward the fulfilment of the announcements-such as life visa to PIO card holders, exemption from police reporting for PIOs staying in India for long term and issuance of long term (10 year) visas to US nationals on a reciprocal basis.
