Mysterious Death of a 39-Year-Old Woman in Ghaziabad Investigated by Police

In a somber incident emerging from Lajpat Nagar colony within the Sahibabad police station's jurisdiction, a 39-year-old woman was found deceased in her residence on Friday night, as confirmed by the police on Saturday. The discovery was made more distressing with the presence of her brother, who was found sitting beside her lifeless body. The authorities were alerted to the scene following a distress call to Dial 112.

Upon arrival, law enforcement officers noted multiple injuries on the woman, including wounds and scars around her eyes, hands, and throat. The victim was identified as Geeta, and her brother as Kishor Kumar Nayar. According to police records, Nayar had been employed as a nano technologist in South Africa until 2018. The family's roots extend to Kerala where their mother resides, and Geeta also had a sister living in the same colony, detailed ACP Sahibabad Rajneesh Upadhyay.

Investigations revealed that disputes between Nayar and Geeta were not uncommon, with neighbors frequently witnessing their quarrels. A notable incident occurred approximately 10 days prior to Geeta's death when she had contacted the police following an altercation with Nayar. This piece of information came to light through the statements of neighbors and adds a layer of complexity to the ongoing investigation.

The aftermath of the tragic discovery saw Geeta's sister, Deepa, being informed by other residents about the grim situation. Upon her arrival, Deepa found Geeta deceased on the floor. The body was subsequently sent for a post-mortem examination. Preliminary findings from the autopsy report indicated that Geeta had sustained abrasions on her body and was suffering from a lung infection at the time of her death.

ACP Upadhyay further mentioned that Nayar is currently grappling with depression, rendering him unable to provide a coherent account of his sister's demise.
