32-yr-old woman found murdered in Kanpur, rape suspected

, Jun 14: A woman was found murdered with her throat slit open and clothes disheveled in Shivrajpur area of the district, police said on Friday.

"The blood-soaked body was found in a field with its saree mussed up. The identity of the victim is not yet known. We are estimating that she aged 32 years," SP (Rural) Anil Mishra said. Mishra, however, did not rule out possibility of rape before the woman was killed.

"We are not ruling out possibility of rape. The body has been sent for postmortem and a case would be registered on the basis of the report's findings.

However, police have found some broken bangles from the crime scene that suggest the woman resisted the attackers," he said.
