3-Year-Old Trapped In Rajasthan Borewell: What Happened So Far?

On Monday afternoon, Chetna accidentally fell into the open borewell while playing. Immediate efforts were made by local authorities to rescue her, with teams from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) being deployed to the site within hours. However, the rescue operation has been far from easy, as reported by ANI.

The surrounding soil, compacted and set due to moisture, created significant challenges for the rescue teams. Despite these difficulties, specialized equipment, including a piling machine, was used to dig a parallel tunnel to the borewell. Teams are closely monitoring Chetna's movements through cameras, ensuring her safety while working to retrieve her.

Rescue Teams Push Forward

As of Wednesday, December 25, the rescue operation reached a critical phase. The NDRF and SDRF teams, having already drilled 170 meters deep, continue their work with high hopes that Chetna will be rescued by Thursday. The rescue operation has been painstakingly slow but steady, with rescuers offering continuous oxygen support to the trapped girl, as reported by ANI.

On Tuesday, a breakthrough occurred when Chetna was pulled up 30 feet using clips, giving rescuers a better sense of her position. However, a substantial distance remains, and the teams are working tirelessly to bring her to safety.

Challenges Faced by the Teams

The rescue operation has been complex due to the difficult terrain and the depth of the borewell. Rescue teams initially faced problems with the compacted soil, making it difficult to dig around the borewell without risking further collapse. The NDRF and SDRF personnel have had to carefully adjust their strategy to ensure that Chetna remains unharmed while they proceed with the rescue, as reported by ANI.

Community and Medical Support

Alongside the rescue teams, medical personnel have been stationed at the site, offering support and ensuring that all safety protocols are maintained. The entire local community has rallied together, anxiously awaiting good news.

The Ongoing Effort

As the hours tick by, the rescue mission remains in full swing, with authorities expressing optimism that the girl will be safely rescued soon. Despite the immense difficulty and emotional tension surrounding the situation, the teams remain determined to bring Chetna home.
