3 time bombs recovered in Bihar, accused took internet’s help to prepare them

The accused person had learnt to make the bombs while watching the internet the police have learnt. Further investigations in the case are on

The Bihar Police has recovered three time bombs from the house of one Javed Ahmed at Tin Kothiya colony under the Mithanpura police station limits of Muzaffarpur.

According to reports the Bihar police on February 11 raided the premises based on input that synthetic drugs were being supplied from a house. However during the raids, the police recovered three time bombs. Following this the police arrested one person and detained three others including the main accused Javed Ahmed. The others are identified as Mohammad Umar, Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Sibbu, all residents of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.

Reports further suggested that the National Investigation Agency (NIA) also interrogated the accused for more than five hours. The other accused said that Javed is a ferryman. They however added that they had no idea about the time bombs that were found at the time of the raid.

Briefing the media about the developments, station in-charge of Mithanpura, Srikant Prasad Sinha said that the suspects are being interrogated by the NIA. So far no links to either the naxalites or terrorists has been found.

The phones of the accused and suspects have been sent for data recovery. So far nothing pertaining to the bombs has been found, but the investigation is ongoing, Sinha also said.

The bombs seized have been diffused by the BDS unit. The police also recovered five cartridges, four cell phones and around 400 grams of smack.

The initial investigation according to the police showed that a wall clock was used in the bombs which were purchased by Javed from Muzaffarpur. The wires and batteries were assembled in West Bengal and Jharkhand, the police found.

Further it was learnt that Javed had visited Jammu and Kashmir on multiple occasions. He learnt to make the bomb by watching tutorials on the Internet.

Report also said that a photograph of a burnt youth had been seized from the possession of the accused. It is now being suspected that the youth in the photograph may have sustained burn injuries at the time of making the bombs.

    The police have lodged an FIR against Javed and his brother, Mohammad Jackie, who is absconding.

    SSP Muzaffarpur, Rakesh Kumar said that they are still in the early stages of the investigation. Hence it would be premature to make any assumptions as the investigations are very much on, Kumar also said.
