3 Pahalgam Attack Terrorists Killed In Operation Mahadev, Amit Shah Slams Opposition in Lok Sabha

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday announced that three terrorists involved in the recent Pahalgam attack in Jammu and Kashmir were neutralised by Indian armed forces during Operation Mahadev.

Addressing the Lok Sabha amid loud protests by Opposition MPs, Shah said, "All three terrorists - Suleman, Afghan, and Jibran - were killed in yesterday's operation. The people who supplied them food had been detained earlier. After the terrorists' bodies were brought to Srinagar, those detainees helped in identification."

Taking a sharp jibe at the Opposition, Shah said, "Terrorists got killed and you are not happy? You should be celebrating." He specifically addressed Samajwadi Party MP Akhilesh Yadav, urging him to let the facts of the operation be presented fully.

He stated, "The NIA has already arrested those who provided shelter and food to the terrorists. When their bodies were brought to Srinagar, they were identified as the three attackers involved in the Pahalgam incident. The Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) had already prepared reports based on the cartridges recovered from the attack scene. Yesterday, their rifles were seized and matched with those FSL findings. Further testing was conducted in Chandigarh, confirming that these three were indeed the perpetrators."

Responding to opposition questions, Shah added, "Yesterday, the Congress asked where the terrorists came from and who was responsible. Of course, the responsibility lies with us-we are in power. Former Home Minister P. Chidambaram questioned what proof we have that the terrorists came from Pakistan. I ask him-what is the point of defending Pakistan? When such statements are made, it amounts to giving Pakistan a clean chit."

The House witnessed heated scenes as Opposition leaders raised several issues during the discussion on Operation Sindoor, including alleged security lapses, the failure to apprehend all attackers, and references to past claims by former US President Donald Trump regarding peace talks between India and Pakistan.

Despite the chaos, Shah firmly stated that India's armed forces were working tirelessly to protect the country and that every step taken under Operation Mahadev had been carefully planned and executed.

This marks a significant development in the Centre's crackdown on terrorism in the Kashmir Valley, especially following a spate of attacks targeting security personnel and pilgrims in recent weeks.
