3 killed in road accident in Kashmir
Srinagar, Aug 18: Three persons, including a mother-son duo, were today killed and a woman was injured when their car collided with a truck on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway in Pulwama district of south Kashmir, police said.
Raja Begum, her son Ashiq Hussain Mir and another person Farooq Ahmad Zargar, all residents of Bijbehara, were killed when their car collided with a truck at Chursoo near Awantipora, 32 km from here, this morning, a police official said.

He said the woman, also travelling in the car, was injured in the accident and was shifted to a hospital.
While the truck was coming from Jammu to Srinagar, the ill-fated car was on its way to Bijbehara from Srinagar when the accident occured, the official said, adding that a case has been registered and further investigations are on.
In another accident in the same area last evening, six persons, including three women, were injured when two private cars collided near Barsoo village. All the injured were shifted to a hospital.
A motorcyclist was killed when he lost control over the two-wheeler and hit a wall at Ahmadpora in Pattan area of Baramulla district last night, the official said. He identified the deceased as Ali Bhat of Hatcinar village of Magam.
In another accident, the spokesman said four pedestrians were injured when a car hit them at Batmaloo in central Srinagar. All the injured were shifted to SMHS hospital, the official said, adding that a case has been registered against the driver of the car.
