Tamil Nadu: 3 killed, 2 injured in multiple collisions

Coimbatore, Oct 12: Three persons were killed on the spot and two injured in multiple collisions involving a car, two wheeler and a bus at Thudiyalur on the city outskirts tonight, police said.

All the deceased were occupants of the car. Police said the speeding car rammed into a motorcycle from behind, throwing both the rider and pillion off.

The car driver then lost control of his vehicle, smashed into a median and careened onto the other lane, hitting a private bus before coming to a stop.

The three occupants of the car have been identified and were from the city, police said. The two injured persons have been hospitalised.
