3 Army jawans assault passengers on Guwahati-bound train, held
Kanpur, Jul 17: Three Army jawans were today arrested for allegedly assaulting fellow passengers travelling with them in Guwahati-bound NorthEast Express here, GRP officials said.
The passengers of the NorthEast Express complained upon on reaching Kanpur station that the three jawans beat them up and forced them to alight from the general compartments, Government Railway police station In-charge Tripurari Pandey said.

After which the jawans were arrested from the Guwahati- bound train and are identified as -- Deepu Sharma and Shishupal Singh -- both resident of MP, and Ajay Kumar of Bihar, he said. Concerned army officers have been informed, the In-charge said, adding the matter is being investigated.
