27-year-old woman gangraped in Kolkata

Kolkata, March 17: A 27-year-old woman was allegedly gangraped by her neighbours in Lake town area of the city, police said on Tuesday.

The four accused also threatened to upload her pictures on social media if she disclosed the incident.

The alleged rape took place on March 9 and the woman along with her brother filed an FIR with the Lake Town police station under Bidhannagar police commissionerate on Monday, they said.

In her complaint, the woman said the four youths who brutalised her were her neighbours.

After the crime, they allegedly threatened her not to disclose it or the pictures would be uploaded on the social networking sites, police said. The police have launched a manhunt for the youths, who are absconding.
