27-year-old TCS techie shot dead in Noida, personal rivalry suspected

Noida, April 14: In a tragic incident, a 27-year-old software techie was shot dead by two unidentified assailants on Tuesday, April 13 evening.

Ankit Chauhan, who got married in March this year, was working as a software engineer in TCS, Noida, Sector-76.

On Tuesday evening, Ankit, who hailed from Meerut, was driving towards his home in Prateek Wisteria society in Sector 77, in his SUV Toyota Fortuner, along with a friend, Gagan Budhoriya, after meeting his wife Amisha, at her Accenture office in Noida, Sector-135.

Two assailants, driving a white Honda Accord, with a fake number plate, tried to overtake Ankit's car and forced him to stop near Noida sector 49.

Reports said that assailants fired several shots at the windscreen of the car. One of the killer came out of his car and gunned down Ankit at his neck and hand. Ankit lost control of the car and it hit a tree.

Then, the killers sped away. However, Ankit's friend Gagan escaped unhurt.

Two passerby, along with Gagan, admitted critically injured Ankit to the nearby Kailash hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

The police has registered a case and the investigation is underway to find out the culprits.

A police official told news channels that since Ankit's belongings were intact, it seems to a case of premeditated killing due to personal enmity. Ankit's body was sent for post-mortem.

Some reports said that Ankit had informed one of his relatives that a Honda car was following him.

Report also claimed that it may be a case of personal rivalry as Ankit's father is into real estate business.
