24-year-old lady doctor found murdered in Mumbai home

Body of a 24-year-old lady doctor, suspected to be raped and murdered, was found at her residence in suburban Vile Parle, a senior police official said today.

Mumbai, Dec 6: Body of a 24-year-old lady doctor, suspected to be raped and murdered, was found at her residence in suburban Vile Parle, a senior police official said today.

The naked body of a woman, a physiotherapist by profession, was found at her residence last night, the official said, adding there were also burn marks on the body.

As per initial investigation, it is suspected that the woman was raped and murdered, the official said.

The victim had gone out for a party last night and had returned home with some of her friends, the officer said, adding she was found dead at around 3 am. Her body was sent for post-mortem and investigation into the matter is underway, police said.
