24 Arrested In Bihar, Nine Caught Allegedly Impersonating Candidates: NEET UG Re-Exam 2026

The district administration and police in Bihar have launched a major crackdown during the NEET UG Re-Examination 2026 after suspected cases of impersonation and examination fraud came to light.

A total of 24 people have been arrested in connection with the case, including nine individuals who were allegedly appearing for the exam on behalf of other candidates.
The arrests were made during checks conducted at multiple examination centres in Lakhisarai district.

Nine Alleged Impersonators Caught At Exam Centres

According to officials, nine accused were caught while allegedly attempting to take the examination in place of registered candidates.

One impersonator was apprehended at the KRK High School examination centre. Seven others were caught at Kendriya Vidyalaya, while another accused was arrested from the Hasanpur School examination centre.

Authorities said the accused belong to different districts, raising concerns about a possible organised network involved in examination fraud.

Police officials are now examining their involvement and trying to determine whether the accused were connected to a larger network operating across different districts.
The arrests have intensified scrutiny over examination security during the NEET UG re-examination process.

Investigation Underway

The arrested individuals are currently being questioned under the supervision of Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Prabhakar Kumar and Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Shivam Kumar.

Based on information gathered during the interrogation, a special police team has launched raids at several locations believed to be linked to the alleged fraud.
Officials hope that the raids will help uncover the full extent of the network and identify others who may have been involved.

Police Suspect Wider Network

Speaking about the case, SDPO Shivam Kumar confirmed that 24 people had been arrested during the NEET UG re-examination checks.

However, officials have not disclosed further details as the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities said the complete picture will emerge only after the investigation is completed. For now, police teams continue to question the accused and conduct raids based on leads obtained during interrogation.
