2016 Redux? Protests rock Kashmir, once again
In the last few days, Kashmir is once again witnessing clashes between the security forces and civilians, bringing back the memories of tension during 2016.
Things are once again going out of hands in Kashmir, literally. Once again, civilians in large numbers are coming out to protest against the security forces. Experts say the valley might witness law and order problem like last year. 2016 proved very bad for the valley. During the six-month shutdown, Kashmir witnessed deaths of hundreds of civilians after protests broke out following the death of Hizbul Mujhadeen commander Burhan Wani, who was killed in a gunfight with the security forces.
During the unrest last year, security forces lost several of their jawans too.
