200 country bombs seized in Tamil Nadu

Tirunelveli, Nov 29: About 200 country bombs have been seized from a coastal village in this district and one person arrested in this connection, police said today.

Following a tip-off, a police team searched the coastal area of Koothankuzhi village and unearthed the bombs which were buried in the beach around midnight.

The bombs were usually used in fishing operations and also during clashes between groups of fishermen. Police said a 20-year-old youth was arrested in connection with the seizure.
