20 fined in Himachal for using red beacon vehicles
Shimla, April 2: Twenty violators have been prosecuted in Himachal Pradesh this year for using red or blue beacons atop their vehicles, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh said on Thursday.
In a written reply in the state assembly, he said the state transport department issued notifications, banning unauthorized use of red and blue beacons on vehicles, on December 30, 2014 and February 27, 2015.

A perusal of the list of the vehicles fined revealed that all of them were registered outside the state. Most of them had registration numbers from Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
The maximum number of challans were carried out in Bilaspur and Una districts.
