2 terror suspects held in Gorakhpur
Gorakhpur, March 27: Two suspected terrorists were arrested by the Uttar Pradesh anti-terror squad in Gorakhpur. Allegedly, the terrorists are from Pakistan and were recruited by the Indian Mujahideen.

Police said that arms and ammunition were recovered from them.

Reportedly, the two men were part of a terror plot ahead of general elections. Police suspect that their target was Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi. They allegedly came to Gorakhpur via Nepal.

The UP police acted on a tip-off from Delhi Police's Special Cell, who interrogated IM chief Tehseen Akhtar,23, who was arrested from Darjeeling on Wednesday.

The young IM chief is an expert bomb-maker. He was arrested from a village called Panitanki, near Nepal border.

Reportedly, he was the master-mind behind the blasts at Narendra Modi's rally in Patna in October.

Tehseen had allegedly been running the Indian Mujahideen in India since the group's co-founder Yasin Bhatkal was arrested last year, also near the India-Nepal border.
