2 shot dead, 4 injured by village head and associates

Some associates of Bijendra told the matter to a police team, which arrived on the spot at about 8 PM yesterday. After the police team pacified the two groups and returned to police station, Bankat and his associates allegedly opened fire on Bijendra and his men.
Bijendra filed a complaint with police alleging that Bankat and ten others opened indiscriminate firing, killing his two nephews - Ram Kishan and Mahesh and injuring Kallu, Ram Niwas, Jai Prakash and Rishi after a brief altercation with them.
"Ram Kishan and Mahesh died, while being taken to hospital whereas doctors referred the injured to Agra for treatment. Their condition is stated to be serious," police said.
"Pradhan Bankat Singh and his associate Pratap have been arrested. Efforts are on to nab others. Extra police personnel have been deployed in the village in the view of the tension," SSP Nitin Tewari said.
