2 minors killed as cloudburst hits Amarnath yatra base camp

Srinagar, July 25: At least two minors have been killed and 10 others injured following a cloudburst in Baltal near the base camp of Amarnath Yatra in central Kashmir's Ganderbal district, a police official said on Saturday.

"Two bodies of minors were found in the wee hours today which include a girl, aged 13 and a boy, aged 12. At least 10 others have sustained injuries and 11 have gone missing," the official said.

The cloudburst occurred late last night. "Cloudburst struck near Baltal base camp and water entered some tents there," he said, adding that the some other pilgrims have been moved to safer places.
