2 dead, 2 seriously injured in boiler explosion in WB

Barasat (WB), Aug 30: Two persons were killed and two others seriously injured when a boiler in a hosiery plant exploded in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district today.

The incident took place in the Talberia hosiery plant under Duttapukhur Police Station, police said, adding, an employee and a wood supplier were killed. The two seriously injured employees have been admitted to the Barasat General Hospital.

The blaze was controlled within an hour by the fire brigade, police said. The reason behind the explosion was not immediately known and a probe has been ordered, they added.
